Compostable Take Out Packaging
Food packaging set designed in tandem with Thitipol Chaimattayompol. We used mushrooms, algae, kenaf, and hemp protein and our primary material choices. Each piece serves a different function to accommodate hold, cold, wet, or dry food. The set was displayed in Times Square as a part of NY Design Week 2018.
Base tray made from mycelium, the vegetative root of mushrooms. The tray is structural, insulating, and hydrophobic.
Bioplastic lid made from gelatin and glycerol.
Hemp protein insert.
Kenaf molded pulp insert.
